Charlotte is gearing up for one of the biggest weekends of the summer as Independence Day celebrations kick into high gear. The U.S. National Whitewater Center hosts its signature July 4th weekend festival with fireworks over the Catawba River on Saturday night. River Jam's free concert series continues on the river stage both Friday and Saturday. Uptown Live returns to Truist Plaza on Thursday with another free outdoor concert. The Charlotte Knights play three home games at Truist Field Thursday through Saturday. Comedian Adele Givens hits The Comedy Zone, Alex Warren performs at the Spectrum Center, and Charlotte Squawks delivers political satire at the Booth Playhouse. Looking ahead, the Stars & Stripes Spectacular — Charlotte's marquee Independence Day event with the Charlotte Symphony and WBT SkyShow fireworks — returns to Truist Field on July 4.
